About Loch Fad
Loch Fad (meaning ‘long loch’ in Gaelic) lies directly along the Highland Fault Line. Fad is relatively large for a freshwater island loch in Scotland, with a surface area of 71 hectares. Its additional dimensions include measurements of 36ft at the narrows, whilst the ends of the loch are shallow – making it ideal for fly fishing, particularly in the south end of the loch during the warmer summer months.
